The essence of the film and Chad’s troubles is summed up in a single scene in which he pulls up to his ex-wife’s house to pick up his son for what is supposed to be the first night that they spend together in two years — and receives a text message from a lady caller:
You wanna fuck my ass tonight?
If you haven’t seen Total Badass yet, both Bob Ray and Chad Holt are embarking on a U.S. tour through the East Coast and the South. There are going to be screenings, Q&A’s with Bob Ray, and Chad Holt will probably tear shit up. Definitely not to be missed.

Does someone point an angry gun in someone’s face in this movie? If not, then it’s un-American and hence ‘badass’ in only some drunken goofypuss way — like Borat from Kazakhstan, done Austin style. If it was Dallas, I wouldn’t have to ask, would I.
