Shy by nature, Stieg Larsson had a weird habit of smelling his hand. (homepage thumbnail via Instagram dream_less)
Stieg Larsson wrote easily digestible tales of cover-ups, conspiracies, and the eternal fight between the feminine and progressive versus the masculine and conservative. Larsson did the right thing and died an early death (on the same date as the Kristallnacht.)
Hollywood—that dream factory for idiots—loves him. David Fincher’s The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo has turned out to be a big flop at cinemas, but Larsson’s book on which it is based has sold over 15 million copies in America.
Here are six points on why this is absurd, why Larsson deserved to die as young as he did, and why he’s probably being punched in the cock by Satan right at this very moment.
1. HE LOOKED LIKE A LESBIAN.
Larsson was a feminist, and like most feminists, he looked like a dyke. This is perhaps the most undeniable point on my list. There is simply no way anyone can deny that Stieg Larsson looked like a lesbian.
All right, let’s move on.
2. HE WAS A HORRIBLE WRITER.
Ridiculous plot and weird dialogue is one thing, but the main character in the books, Mikael Blomkvist, is the most obvious reason why it all falls apart.
Blomkvist is the publisher of a radical magazine called Millennium (clearly based on Larsson’s own Expo, a magazine dedicated to exposing all sorts of right-wing schemes). Like Larsson, Blomkvist is not afraid to go after evil right-wingers at any cost. He eventually teams up with a hyper-intelligent punk-rock lesbian called Lisbeth Salander, whom he actually manages to fuck despite her deep hatred for men.
By now you probably realize Blomkvist is a Mary Sue for Larsson himself.
There’s a feminist twist, though: Blomkvist is the submissive one. Salander fucks him with the cold, hard aggression of a man and refuses to get close to him emotionally. Blomkvist finds this fascinating. I think Larsson was the kind of guy who cried when he had an orgasm.
3. HE WAS A HYPOCRITE.
Despite hating capitalism, Larsson had a strange hard-on for Apple products. That’s why you find odd passages in his books like this:
Unsurprisingly, she set her sights on the best available alternative: the new Apple PowerBook G4/1.0 GHz in an aluminium case with a Power PC 7451 processor with an AltiVec Velocity Engine, 960 megs of RAM and a sixty gig hard drive. It had BlueTooth and built in C.D and D.V.D. burners.
Smells like product placement to me. And damn weird product placement, too.
Apple machines weren’t the only capitalist products the Stiegmeister endorsed though. According to his friends, he ate terrifying amounts of McDonald’s food every day. This, along with an enormous intake of coffee and cigarettes, probably helped Larsson to die early.
Yay, capitalism!
He didn’t drink Coca Cola with his junk food, though, just to underline that he’s not too American.
Hypocritical Swedish fuck.
4. HE BELIEVED IN A HIDDEN AND POWERFUL PATRIARCHY.
Larsson was a feminist from Sweden, and therefore it’s safe to say he must have been influenced by the peculiar type of feminism they have there. Swedish feminists are notoriously hostile toward anything remotely phallic, and that includes maypoles.
They also still believe in the ridiculous Satanic Panic myths that spread worldwide during the sixties, thus allying them with the extreme parts of the Christian American Right. Much of this can be blamed on an awful woman called Eva Lundgren who works as a professor at the University of Uppsala, a university known for being dominated by a ridiculous coven of feminists and Queer theorists. To see just how fucked-up professor Lundgren is and what consequences her insane ramblings can have on a group of man-fearing dykes, see the Swedish documentary Könskriget (The Gender War.)
I don’t know if Larsson knew Lundgren, or if he was consciously influenced by her, but in his books all men are evil (except for Blomkvist/Larsson of course) and they’re also often part of a bigger network of men who absolutely HATE women (hence the Swedish title of the first book: Män Som Hatar Kvinnor (Men Who Hate Women.)
There’s Lisbeth Salander’s lawyer, who keeps her from getting her inheritance. He makes the poor punkette suck his evil cock for some cash. (Man-hating feminists, from Dworkin to Solanas, seems to have few qualms about fucking the men they hate to get a few coins.) Just so you absolutely understand how evil this man is, Larsson later makes him rape Salander in the poo-poo hole. What a pain in the ass that guy’s gotta be!
But the ass-raping lawyer is nothing compared to the Vanger family around whom The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is centered.
We find out that the wealthy industrialist Martin Vanger has killed an enormous amount of women because they were a) women, and b) immigrants, and c) because Martin hates both women and immigrants. Oh, and some prostitutes just for the hell of it.
What we also find out is that Martin’s father, Gottfried, trained his son up to be a misogynistic serial killer, and that Gottfried murdered girls because they were a) women, and b) Jews, and c) because Gottfried hated both women and Jews.
He was, in fact, a Nazi.
Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen, this is a family of capitalist misogynist Nazi serial killers. Oh, that’s not heavyhanded at all, Stieg, you absolute fucking shitstain you!
And of course this family of pure Evil is connected to everyone influential in Sweden, which makes Blomkvist and Salander’s work that much harder.
Oh, and Martin also repeatedly raped his own sister. Along with their father. I wish I was kidding.
5. HE ONCE WITNESSED A GANG RAPE, DID NOTHING, THEN BITCHED ABOUT MEN EVER SINCE.
Larsson’s contempt for his fellow men seems to spring out of an incident from his childhood where he witnessed his friends commit a gang rape on a local girl and he did nothing about it. Nothing, except tell her that he was sorry a few days later (that must have been awkward!) After that, Stieg made a vow that he will fight injustice agaist women wherever it is.
So basically, he held all men responsible for his own fucking cowardice.
What a swine! What a projecting cunt.
6. HE’S EVEN ANNOYING POST-MORTEM.
Like with all Holier-Than-Thou White Knights, Larsson’s death has spawned a retarded cult where Lisbeth Salander is seen as a positive role-model for women everywhere, as opposed to the psychopathic, man-hating witch that she obviously is (amongst other things, she let’s Martin Vanger burn alive inside his crashed car without helping him. That’s justice to Larsson.)
Larsson himself is portrayed as the man who dared to show Sweden for what it is, which to him is a misogynist country controlled by Hitler-worshipping, woman-hating pigs, as opposed to a Sweden where people like Eva Lundgren can force a book that criticizes her beliefs in the Satanic Patriarchy to be pulped and never released.
His books have now become so popular, tourist agencies arrange Stieg Larsson tours where idiots can travel to the places described in the book and gawp at…I don’t know. Something Swedish. We can presume anal rape and serial murder is included in the tour.
On seeing Larsson’s corpulent corpse in the coffin, his friend Baksi said that he had never seen [Larsson] as beautiful as when he was dead.
That I can believe, Baksi.
—ZACK SENHAUSEN

nice polemic! I’ve never read a Larsson book, but this is going to be my opinion on him.
“The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral, begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it. Through violence you may murder the liar, but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth. Through violence you may murder the hater, but you do not murder hate. In fact, violence merely increases hate. So it goes. … Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
This quote was used for equal rights and applies to any group struggling for equality. Feminists who despise men only make things a lot worse.
I like to search for ‘lesbian’ on youtube and then jerk off. Oh, and Stieg Heil!!
C’mon, the guy was swedish.
“There’s Lisbeth Salander’s lawyer, who keeps her from getting her inheritance”
His wife didn’t get any money from his death.
Good point, Gavin.
Let’s let’s let’s
every good liberal knows Apple is the exception to the “evil corporations” rule, based on their tireless efforts to promote/sustain “creativity” by any means necessary (i.e. selling stuff to rich white people)
This is epic stuff. Now I can never see “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”, thank you for saving me from that. Hopefully we’ll see more of mr. Senhausen!
How did he die? By collapsing under the weight of his own doughyness?
I’ve only read the first book. It wasn’t a very well told story. It jumps back and forth between two plot lines awkwardly. Kind of like, “Hey remember that thing that we talked about for 20 pages 600 pages ago? Well, now that we solved the mystery lets disregard any sort of segue and smash back that plot line…”
I believe that the strange expressions are a result of the translation from Swedish to English.
The original Danish films took thrillers up a notch. No need for the books when films are that good.
A Hollywood remake? PLease no.
The reason it flopped is that they didn’t run it under its original title “Men who hate women”.
American men would have flocked to see that movie.
This is pathetic.
Was he out of Methylphenidate or something? Who the hell was Brown?
He died walking up a flight of stairs. Just let that sink in for a bit…
I was trying to decide what to read last spring and it was between the ‘millennium series’ and ‘the hunger games’ and I chose the hunger games which I enjoyed. That series is now being made into a movie…….of course.
Way to much thought for a pulp novel, like writing a thesis on Stephen King.
YES! These books blow. I cannot understand why they are so popular. I guess we should be happy that dumb Americans are reading and not wasting all their time on stupid websites. Wait…
Along with the incessant Apple product placement there is never-ending making and drinking of coffee. Which just isn’t interesting.
Street Carnage, your number one source for shit talk on overrated dead guys.
is it just me or did you get mad inappropriate boners while reading this trash. all the points above are hiliarious, number one is one of those obvious things that my mind was just kind of glistening on but now its’ proper wet und sopping ja. Orgski borgski borgski.. the most unforgivable thing is that altho they were badly written there was something kind of poppy and pulpy about the first two books that made them fun to read, despite the heavy handedness and awful characterization etc.. but the third book was just such a total cunted bellyflop.. truly one of the worst books I have ever read in my life and I read twilight so I could bang my slow aunt
For your consideration…
Worldwide gross so far: $167 million
Budget: $90 million
Lets dig him up and kill him again
Wonderful point, Stankly. By your logic, Justin Bieber is the world’s greatest musician.
I hope you’re being satirical and ironic, otherwise this is a crapper piece of journalism than Larsson is a writer. Whilst it is very true that Stieg looked like a lesbian, this article reads like conservative tripe.
^^^ You used the word “whilst.” You are immediately disqualified. And true journalism doesn’t take political sides. It merely reports the facts. But this is an opinion piece, so please explain where “journalism” comes into it.
Oh, come on now, Mr. “Polemikvist.” Are you sure I’m a conservative? I want you to think really, really hard now; does criticizing a member of one political side automatically make me a part of the other side?
I take this as a sign of failure: the first article I write for Street Carnage, and I only manage to annoy whining dullards.
Excuse me, I have to find some local pond to drown myself in, which is pretty fucking hard because there are no ponds here.
a dude writing about a shitty feminist novel. is anyone really stupid enough to agree with anything this post says?
you shit on larsson’s lack on feminist actions, yet criticize him for looking like a lesbian. great job, guy.
i’m going to go take a shit in a lesbian’s mouth and feign moral superiority over all of you. i’ll do it, i swear.
ok, “lack on feminist actions” doesn’t really make any sense and i’m a fucking idiot. i’m sorry. i just get defensive when people shit on beta males—for obvious reasons.
Let’s focus on the important thing about the movie: multiple bush sightings.
It sounds like you’ve read about Steig Larrson himself but I bet you just looked up the plot on wikipedia judging by the way you reduced the plot to men=evil women=good.
Plus, you just WANT to hate this since it’s so popular. If you read the book, I doubt you gave it a chance.
Oh, fuck, you got me there, Chris.
Jesus Christ, can I get someone who’s not a complete and utter dildo in here?!
I am thrilled, and I mean FUCKING THRILLED that I get to see rape scenes without subtitles. Most of the people I know won’t shut the fuck up about this movie. And what kind of hacker uses a FUCKING MAC? Christ.
I’d give you mad props yo but my “brand” has been watered down by an impostor. I’m destroyed… DESTROYED I tell you!
Just kidding. This phoenix will rise from the ashes. RISE. FROM. THE. ASHES!!! *echoes
@ “@ Stankly”,
The figures disprove Zack’s incorrect claim that the movie flopped. Nothing more, nothing less.
Actually, this entire blog post is pure garbage. Uninformed and whiny in a spoiled kindergarten kid kind of way.
Lets have a look at the bullet points:
1. Obsessing over how a man looks is for heterosexual women and gay men. As a heterosexual man, I can’t see any reason to be interested in a male authors hotness or lack thereof. Obviously, Zack doesn’t feel the same way. (And I assume he’ll be cowardly enough to remove my post as soon as he see it.)
2. Whether or not a book is enjoyable to read is entirely subjective. You not agreeing with the millions who loved his books just mean you’ll get to stick to whatever books (if any) that YOU like. You are right about one thing, however: Blomkvist is indeed an obvious Mary Sue wish-fulfillment fantasy. And a rater common variant at that: Middle aged guy gets to save the world and get to have a hyper-intelligent, hyper-competent young babe sidekick who is sexually more into him than he is into her. A scenario FAR more common in men’s fantasies than in real life. But so what?
3. As far as I know, he was not against market-economy or the existence of financial corporations. Thus, there’s nothing hypocritical about him being fond of certain products. The definition of hypocrisy is to go against your OWN values, not to go against the strawman values that random morons on the internet assign to you.
4. Analyzing a book/film that you have never read/seen doesn’t really work. If you HAVE read/seen it, I can’t help feel sorry for you, considering your obvious inability at basic comprehension. First of all, the vast majority of male characters are good and honorable, and are appreciated as such by the female characters. Nils Bjurman and Martin Vanger are never portrayed as being representative of men in general. Oh, and Eva Lundgren is Norwegian, not Swedish.
Furthermore, you got all the details wrong about the book, not that it matters. For example, Bjurman confiscated Salander’s paychecks, not some inheritance. He had legal power over her because the state had wrongly declared her to be insane. Long story.
5. I wish your drivel had at least taken the unreasonable but somewhat honorable position to demand that one alone kid should have stopped a big scary gang all by himself. Sadly, it sounds more as if you feel he was a traitor to his gender for not siding with the rapists, and maybe joining in as well. Is this why you mistake the hatred against Nils Bjurman and Martin Vanger as hatred for all men? Are you one of those creeps who are rapists at heart and frantically try to tell themselves that men in general are like them? I can assure you, we are not.
6. Blah blah blah.
There are no nazis in control of anything in this book, much less everything: Martin Vanger is one single person, and he’s not even a nazi. His father was a Nazi, but the father never had much power and is long since dead.
Yes, Salander does have mental problems, that’s part of her characterization. But “man-hating”? LOL, hating two individuals who are male does not mean hating men in general. On the contrary, she’s the one who point out how vast the gulf is between those two men and men in general.
Finally… Lets say that YOU had been researching a grotesque serial killer for some time, having gone through all the gory details of his crimes… and you then catch him in the act of trying to murder your best friend while bragging about how he’s going to kill you next… Would YOU risk your life to save him from a burning car some 10 minutes later? Honestly?
Whoa looks like some out of towners stumbled into this post.
you’re a dipshit that managed to compose an article completely out of ad hominems. good fucking job you stupid asshole. yes i comprehend the irony of this comment but at least i’m not trying to pose it as either art or a living. regardless of your retarded perspectives that you pass off as “humor” I guarantee that i hated stieg larsson before you, and as an added kick in the balls, i’m a woman. suck a goddamn pee pee since you like defending men so much.
yeah i’m drunk. you can still suck a pee pee
