Tonight BAM is showing an amazing 80s punk doc called Rough Cut and Ready Dubbed. It’s part of a series of old punk movies they’re doing all week called “Punk ‘N’ Pie.” If you don’t see Rough Cut please at least see the Joe Strummer one on Thursday. It’s a brutally honest portrayal of Joe that includes people who think he was a poser and a dick.

It’s extremely unfortunate the great unwashed treated him in the way that they did- he deserved so much better. I mean, C’mon dude, he fucking rocked, buddy.
No one does that anymore, no one.
I’m sure that Joe Strummer’s corpse appreciates someone with a handle as annoyingly gay as “srsly” has rushed to his defense.

I learned a lot from that Strummer doc. After the Clash he went to the mountains to find himself and just got really depressed. You have to keep moving no matter what. Even if your parents die. Get busy. Stay sane. Most of us are like sharks. As soon as we stop moving, we die. Strummer only got happy again after organizing those bonfire things and working with people.
you have to admit that the clash punk years were pretty goddam lame.
