However I don't believe he is a total suckfest. If he were to label these things as creative nonfiction or fictional memoirs or something, I think these pills would be easier to swallow. I am an AVID fan of Heartworm Press, and by avid I mean that I will spend insane amounts of money to get them. I actually currently am only missing 2 out of the whole "discography", but this doesn't go to say that Max's writing is that great. It seems to be the same with every release, and it seems almost every Heartworm release now has his name on it. Not a bad writer, but HW should focus on some of it's better contributors.(Chris Leo, J.W. Buckley, J. Shaw, and of course, Wes Eisold, who may or may not have totally dropped off the zine and book publishing train.)
