We went over to Soho last week to check this out Scott Campbell’s new exhibition, “Always Almost There”, at Lazarides Gallery and then realized we were about 3,000 miles off. If you live in Lime Suckers Land please go see this. We’re not allowed to tell you how he makes these things, but it truly is a sight to behold. The show also features collages by the tattoo artist.

Big ups to Gnarlitude.com.

cnc machine? amazing stuff.
laser cutter. It’s as easy as downloading an image off google, stacking a few bills on top of one another and hitting ‘print’.
They look great, but isn’t ‘the message’ a bit heavy-handed? America – Guns! Religion! Really? Wow, insightful…
Agreed with anonymous. Still looks pretty cool though.
I agree with largePENIS, but I thoroughly disagree with Anonymous.
the cnc-ing part, if they are cnc-ed, is easy. sure. right.
it’s the beauty you can’t program. there’s nothing easy WHATSOEVER in these creations.
and by the way, anoynmous: you’re only guessing.
scott makes pretty good shit, no doubt about it.
seriously now, no this show is old. it was in miami last april
way better than that shit the dead junkie “downtown artist” guy did.
seriouslynow: it ain’t a guess: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYAM1pql1Io
still looks pretty. Not taking that away from it. But you’re wrong, there is something incredibly easy about how they are made. and that’s ok, even if the message is a tad pretentious.
Yo Scott Campbell, I’m really happy for you, Imma let you finish, but Mark Wagner is one of the best “cut-money-into-pictures” guys OF ALL TIME!!!
