The site is mostly just two regular columns: 1) the “Pin-Ups” section, which presents a profile of a girl along with a self-submitted photograph and a regular survey on music, hipster credentials and traits she looks for in a husband; and 2) “Celebrity Crush,” which selects a celeb, briefly explains why she is crush-worthy and rates her on a one-to-ten, PBR scale. The site also occasionally features guest contributions, like a guide to the perfect hipster date.

Hipster Wife Hunting seems to be part of a new trend focused on chasing wives rather than banging sluts. This might be because the “DIE HIPSTER SCUM” thing has been exposed as grumpy old people yelling at kids who aren’t listening. Is this the end of hipster hating and slut loving? Both of those things seem so old.

Not so fast, Gilligan. Gavin, keenly aware of his market, has written maybe a dozen articles offering that opinion, just as “hipster haters” have scribbled countless equally worthless articles offering their opinions about hipsters. Nothing was “exposed.” No “evidence” was offered, because there would be no such thing in this case. These are all opinions, for fuck’s sake.
And someone pointed out a long time ago that while hipster-hating may be stale, this hipster-defending thing seems even more played-out. If the hipster-haters weren’t affecting you on some emotional level, we wouldn’t be seeing near-weekly IN DEFENSE OF THE HIPSTER articles.

There it goes again, the perpetual “Anyone who hates hipsters is old and jealous” myth. I can’t begin to express how difficult it is for me to wrap my mind around this rationale when on any given trip to Bedford or 7th Aves, the vast majority of shitster beardos and knock-kneed bimbos lolling around are obviously OLDER than me or any of the other hipster-haters I know.
See, I’ve always been under the impression that the reason why people like me and my other Brooklyn native friends hate shitsters is because they skip into our communities like ugly overgrown high schoolers, raise the rents beyond the reach (or willingness-to-pay) of most normal working people with their suburban parents’ money, AND–if that weren’t enough–to add insult to injury, they then proceed to act as though those of us who were here all along, pre-Wonder Bread invasion, don’t belong in our OWN neighborhoods.
