If you really wanted to make a point you’d need to do a robust regression analysis of what people wear when they get arrested, and then you’d have to normalize it to adjust for the astronomical numbers of blacks that get arrested as compared to whites. The rate of incarceration is seen as a problem only by those who feel that food, clothing, linens, housing, healthcare, recreation, and entertainment should not be given out freely, but rather seized at gunpoint from those who have earned them. That’s one thing jail doesn’t provide – the smug, sublime feeling of ill-gotten gains. Willy Horton had it so good in jail, so that when Obama let him out, he had to rape and murder to get back in.
